SUCCESS STORY: GOLDEN OMEGA

Rheem Challenge – Golden Omega.

Oil concentrates: Omega-3 require adequate packaging to guarantee their safety, given that they will be used as raw material for the manufacture of nutraceutical products.

Around the years 2009-2010, we started a collaborative work, in order to determine which of the containers manufactured by Rheem could meet the wright requirements to the oil concentrates.Multiple tests were carried out with different types of coatings, materials and volumetric capacities available, until a consensus was reached: Our QMS (Quick Manufacturing System) container, consisting of an in-house drum manufacturing process, would be the ideal solution for the challenge.

Our contribution

Components manufactured at our plant in Santiago would be packed on pallets and transported in closed vans to Arica.

With equipment provided by Rheem, installed in Golden Omega’s plant, the drums are finished, only when they are required and at the speed they are needed.

This manufacturing is carried out under the most strict processes, which guarantee the quality and innocuousness required for the container. The fact of manufacturing just before packaging, allows us to check and ensure the safety of its inner walls.

This form of transportation and storage until its final use significantly minimizes the costs and physical damage, typical of drums that must be moved between remote locations.

What was the result? “When we turned to Rheem to develop the packaging Golden Omega required, we knew that quality and production capacity were important attributes. However, over time, new requirements and attributes have been requested. Rheem has not only been up to the task of fulfilling what was required, but has gone beyond, working on ideas and solutions with great enthusiasm, becoming a very important partner for Golden Omega” José Antonio García-Sub Supply Manager-Golden Omega.
