Rheem Chilena in the Covid-19 Pandemic

Rheem Chilena in the Covid-19 Pandemic: Keeping  the commitment to our clients in a context of global uncertainty.

A year after the declaration of the pandemic in the region, Rheem Chilena evaluates the whole experience during these challenging times, and the undertaken efforts in order to ensure operational continuity for our clients, a commitment that constitutes the foundation of our company’s value proposition.

Following the declaration of the Covid- 19 pandemic in the region, our company focused its efforts in four different subjects:

  • Protect the health of its collaborators, designing an internal plan of action that follows the guidelines established by the Chilean government, with the main priority of avoiding potential internal contagions, or of any stakeholder related to our operations.
  • Ensure productive capacity, supported by all the company’s staff and making the necessary investments in order to maximize input, especially in times of high demand by the clients (third term).
  • Strengthen relations with suppliers of materials and services, in order to ensure production planning and to guarantee dispatch according  to planning.
  • Keep a close relationship with our clients, as to optimally understand their needs and develop a prompt response in view of the markets’ volatility.

“We fully understand our company’s responsibility as a strategic provider for our clients, therefore Rheem has made and will continue making all the necessary efforts to meet the packaging needs of each one of our clients” – says Álvaro Godoy, our company’s Commercial Director. “It is worth noting that the company has been able to maintain its  supply commitment even in the third trimester, when the demand of the market raised  50%  post – confinement over that of a normal year, living up to our clients’ expectations and trust”.

Rheem Chilena SPA closes the year 2020 with sales of over 3 million metal drums and 16 million plastic buckets, supplying industrial packaging solutions to more than 500 industrial clients in 25 countries, establishing itself as a regional leader in its area.

The challenge for 2021 is to enhance product  innovation and in this way to attempt  alleviating the effect of the volatility of supplies, a phenomenon that impacts on the resins and steel markets. “The challenge is to tie bonds with suppliers, as to assure a regular flow of the supply chain for the direct benefit of our clients. Our value as a supplier is to reassure our proven capacity to supply the markets’ processes, with the highest quality standards in the industry of industrial packaging” – emphasizes Godoy.

The company projects a double digit growth for the next five years, and to that extent it has developed an investment plan to implement cutting – edge technologý in its plant in Maipú, Santiago de Chile.
